EP 51: When Everything Feels Important, What Comes First?

What do you do when everything in your life feels important…but you simply don’t have the capacity to do it all?

This week, I’m sharing another personal episode from a season of my life that feels very unresolved.

I’m looking for housing. I’m looking for more stable income. I’m applying for jobs and talking to recruiters. I’m continuing to work with clients, produce this podcast, write my newsletter, create daily content, and keep moving forward on books and projects that matter deeply to me.

And on top of all of that, my husband is living in another country and has just signed a one-year lease there.

So…there are a few moving pieces. 😂

Somewhere in the middle of trying to figure out how I was going to keep doing everything, I realized I might be asking the wrong question.

Instead of:

How am I going to do all of this?

What if the better question is:

What actually needs me right now?

In this episode, we explore why we’ve created an impossible definition of what a “good day” is supposed to contain, how wellness itself can become another form of achievement, and why our priorities need to change depending on the season of life we’re actually in.

We’ll talk about:

• Why finite capacity isn’t failure

• How self-care can quietly become self-criticism

• Why something can matter without being important right now

• What happens when financial stability seems to compete with purpose

• Why taking a job doesn’t necessarily mean abandoning your dream

• How highly responsible people end up treating everything as equally urgent

• What we’re modeling for children when our lives become endless checklists

• Why capable adults don’t manage everything perfectly—they make choices

And at the end of the episode, I’ll give you six questions I’m asking myself right now to help decide what needs my attention, what can wait, and what I’m allowed to put down.

Because maybe you don’t need more time.

Maybe you need permission to stop treating everything as equally urgent.

Your priorities should be seasonal, not permanent.
